Spend Better: partner discounts
Capitec’s partner network covers more than 30 brands, with discounts and cash back applied automatically when you pay with your Capitec card in-store or online — no vouchers or codes needed. Categories span pharmacy and baby essentials, automotive, rideshare, investing, tech, hotels, streaming and more. Live Better savings account
All Capitec Rewards cash back is paid into a Live Better savings account, which is free and, per Capitec’s current guidance, doesn’t require separate activation for existing clients. Balances in this account earn interest and never expire, and customers can also switch on Round-Up (automatically saving the change on card purchases) and Interest Sweep (moving Global One interest earnings automatically into Live Better) to grow savings passively. Money in Live Better can be transferred back to your main transactional account instantly through the app whenever you need it.
MoneyUp: free financial education
Alongside cash back and partner discounts, Capitec runs MoneyUp — a free financial education initiative sitting under the same Rewards umbrella, aimed at building money skills rather than paying out rewards directly. It’s split into three strands: MoneyUp for adults and students (digital learning content and magazines), MoneyUp for learners (an interactive money game aimed at Grade 7s, plus a practical guide for school leavers), and MoneyUp for communities (in-person financial wellness workshops). None of this requires a Capitec account to access — the articles and tools are published openly on capitecbank.co.za, covering topics like budgeting, financial health, and tax-efficient saving.

Is there a fee for Capitec Rewards, or do I need to activate it?

How redemption works
Unlike a traditional loyalty scheme, there’s no separate voucher, code or points balance to manage. You simply pay with your linked Capitec debit, credit or virtual card at a participating partner — in-store or online — and the discount or cash back is applied either instantly at checkout, or paid into your Live Better savings account on the 10th of the following month (“Live Better Day”). Some partners, like Dis-Chem, require you to also link a separate loyalty card (their own Better Rewards card) inside the Capitec app first to unlock the full combined discount.

- For most partners, simply paying with your linked Capitec debit, credit or virtual card is enough — no separate activation needed
