Investec Rewards: Partnership Levels, Earning & Redemption Explained

How Investec Rewards works
Private Bank and Private Business Account holders are automatically enrolled in Investec Rewards, with no joining fee and no minimum qualifying criteria. There’s no limit on the number of points you can earn, and points never expire — including points earned on outstanding lending balances every month, not just spending.
The five partnership levels
Your earn rate depends on your partnership level, which is driven by a partnership score calculated from the products and balances you hold with Investec. The minimum monthly deposit requirement must be met to activate the partnership score and access levels 2 to 5. As of April 2026, that minimum is R35,000 a month for standard clients, or R10,000 a month for Young Professionals and Guaranteed Family accounts — Investec says it factors in a 12-month rolling average, so ad hoc or lumpy deposits (common for business owners) aren’t unfairly penalised.
| Level | Requirement | Earn rate |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Minimum monthly deposit not yet met | 1 point per R20 of qualifying transactions; 1 point per R2,000 of qualifying balances |
| Level 2 | Partnership score below 100, deposit requirement met | 1 point per R10 of transactions; 1 point per R1,000 of balances |
| Level 3 | Partnership score 100–299 | 1 point per R7 of transactions; 1 point per R700 of balances |
| Level 4 | Partnership score 300–499 | 1 point per R5 of transactions; 1 point per R500 of balances |
| Level 5 | Partnership score 500 and above | 1 point per R4 of transactions; 1 point per R400 of balances |
Qualifying activity includes Investec Visa card purchases, Investec Life and Aon Pinion insurance premiums paid by debit order, and average monthly balances on Investec Private Home Loans and Instalment Sales such as vehicle finance.
One exclusion worth knowing: the fee-free Youth Account is not enrolled in Investec Rewards — the programme is reserved for Private Bank and Private Business Account holders, so a child or young adult banking on a Youth Account won’t accumulate points until they move onto their own Private Bank Account.
Redeeming your points
The redemption ratio is 20 Rewards points for R1 across all redemption options except British Airways Avios. Popular redemption routes include:
- Points-to-Cash, paid directly into your Private Bank or Private Business Account
- Covering your monthly account fee automatically
- Buying unit trusts through Ninety One
- Paying for flights, hotels or car hire through Investec Travel
- Charitable donations to an Investec CSI charity
- Selected retail and spa partners, alongside British Airways Avios (the one exception to the standard 20-points-to-R1 ratio)
Redemptions are done through Investec Online or the Investec App, under the Rewards section — for help, call the 24/7 Client Support Centre on 0860 110 161 or +27 286 9663.
Other benefits linked to your account
Beyond points, Investec offers unlimited complimentary access to over 1,100 airport lounges worldwide, plus unlimited access to all SAA-owned and Bidvest Premier lounges through the global Dragonpass network, via the InTransit app. Since 22 April 2026, this lounge access has been gated behind partnership level 2 or above rather than being an automatic benefit for every Private Bank Account holder — Investec’s stated reasoning is to keep travel-related benefits aligned to the depth of a client’s overall banking relationship. If you’re on level 1, meeting the monthly deposit threshold above is the fastest route to unlocking it. There’s also Private Selection, a curated set of lifestyle offers and experiences for Private Banking clients, and access to Investec Travel, a dedicated travel agency for flights, accommodation and car rental.
