Where do I do cash banking now?
Since 1 May 2026, Postbank transactions are no longer available at Post Office counters, following the end of the service agreement between Postbank and the South African Post Office. Postbank savings-account customers now make cash deposits at Standard Bank branches and ATMs, and withdraw cash at Standard Bank ATMs or participating retail stores using a cardless solution. This change does not affect SASSA grant beneficiaries, who continue to receive and access their grants as before through retailers and ATMs. See the Branches & Where to Bank page for the full breakdown.
Lost card, PIN reset or suspected fraud: what to do
- Report new fraud cases to Fraud@postbank.co.za; follow up on an existing case via FraudEnquiry@postbank.co.za
- SASSA-related fraud also goes to Fraud@postbank.co.za
- Neither Postbank nor Standard Bank will ever ask for your PIN or one-time password (OTP), in person, by phone, by messaging app or by email — treat any such request as a scam attempt
- Postbank has warned of scammers doing home visits, sometimes wearing branded clothing or arriving in marked vehicles, claiming a card needs to be "fixed" and must be handed over with its PIN — Postbank does not conduct unsolicited home visits, and will never make this kind of request
- For a genuine SASSA Black Card, check that "Postbank" is clearly printed on the front of the card — Postbank has warned that anything without its branding is not a genuine replacement card
- PIN resets for SASSA cards can be done at SASSA offices or a Postbank service point; general Postbank PIN reset queries go through Customer Care
- If your card is lost or stolen, block it immediately by calling 0800 53 54 55, and open a case at your nearest SAPS station if it was stolen
How to escalate a complaint
Start with Customer Care on 0800 53 54 55 or by email to postbank.enquiries@postbank.co.za, and describe your account number, ID number and the issue clearly. Keep a record of the date, the channel used, and any reference number given so you can follow up if the issue isn't resolved on first contact. Postbank also provides a feedback form on its official website for general service feedback.
